PIXLEY — A thief stole nearly $5,000 in unspecified equipment late this week from a South County farming operation.

Tulare County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 8:35 a.m. Friday to the area of Road 120 south of Avenue 96 northwest of Pixley to investigate.

A representative of Sunrise Farms said someone stole equipment worth about $4,750 sometime between June 6 and 7:30 a.m. Friday, the Sheriff’s Department reports.

The case is under investigation.
