Allegations lead to South County teen's arrest

ALPAUGH — A South County teen was arrested Thursday for allegedly molesting a child.

Tulare County sheriff’s deputies responded at 7:52 p.m. to a confidential address to investigate allegations that someone molested a child.

The victim said Miguel Carranza, 18, molested her between 1 and 4 a.m. Tuesday while she was visiting his home on the sub-100 block of Avenue 50 in Alpaugh, the Sheriff’s Department reports.

Her age was not released.

Carranza was booked at the Porterville substation on suspicion of committing lewd acts on a child under the age of 14 and on suspicion of oral copulation on a child under the age of 14. Bail was set at $150,000.

The case remains under investigation.
