THE PORTERVILLE RECORDER

A fight between a father and a son led to an arrest this weekend when the 22-year-old son reportedly interfered with authorities’ attempts to break up the altercation.

Porterville police officers were dispatched to the residence in the 1000 block of North San Carlos Street after the fight had occurred. The officers were in the midst of their investigation when the son, Daniel Lopez Jr., arrived and allegedly started arguing with his father and the officers.

He allegedly ignored the police commands to stay back and was subsequently arrested.

As he was being arrested, Lopez Jr. allegedly threatened to shoot his father.

He was booked into the Tulare County Main Jail on suspicion of making criminal threats and delaying a police officer.
