Plainview man shot in home

A 40-year-old Plainview man was shot Tuesday inside his home during an attempted robbery of medicinal marijuana, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department reports.  

The Sheriff’s Department reports that on Tuesday, several people entered the home, in the 14600 block of Vista Avenue, in an attempt to steal a large amount of processed marijuana.

The victim was inside the home when the suspects arrived and shots were fired, according to reports. The suspects reportedly fled and the victim was taken by a personal vehicle to a local hospital.

Authorities say there were medicinal marijuana recommendations located at the home along with a large amount of processed marijuana. The marijuana was seized as evidence and the Sheriff’s Tactical Enforcement Personnel Team (STEP) was called to take over the marijuana-investigation portion of the case.

STEP detectives will determine if the amount of processed marijuana is in compliance with the recommendations that were on scene.
