Information sought in shooting
No one was injured in a weekend drive-by shooting that Porterville police continued to investigate Monday.
According to a Police Department incident report, at about 11:26 p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of West Union Avenue to investigate a drive-by shooting that had just occurred.
On arrival, the officers made contact with several victims who had been inside during the shooting, Sgt. Duanne Griffin said.
"Several .22-caliber projectiles were found in the residence," Griffin said. "There was one in the front door, three in the living room and one also struck the back window of a truck that was parked in the roadway.
"When checking the roadway, officers located seven expended .22-caliber shell casings and one live .22-caliber round."
Griffin said witnesses were contacted at the scene and police learned that an unknown type of sedan was seen fleeing the scene east on Union Avenue shortly after the incident.
Griffin said the color and make of the suspect vehicle was not known.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Police Department at 782-7400.
