PortNaz to host third annual Shine conference

Porterville Church of the Nazarene will host the third annual Shine event from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 15,  and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 16.

Sheila Walsh—author, Bible study teacher and vocalist—will be the featured speaker, and many of her books will be available for purchase. The goal of this event is to reach out to women of the community, helping them connect through “worship, fellowship and a powerful message of transcending hope.”

Registration may be done at the church office, 2005 W. Olive Ave., or online at www.portnaz.org. Cost is $35 for adults and $20 for youth. Volunteers are also needed in many areas.

Amy Miller, the women’s ministry director at the church, hopes that the conference will “hit the heartbeat” of the women who attend so that they can take the message back to their homes and families and have a great impact upon our community. The event is open to everyone.
