Ridgecrest man found safe in mountains

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Department reports that Search and Rescue personnel, and members of the Sequoia Mountain Rescue team were able to safely locate a Ridgecrest man Sunday morning, after searching for him for more than a day.

The man, Michael Gutherie, had been hunting in the area of Schaeffer Mountain in the Sequoia National Forest, Saturday when he become separated from his hunting partner. When found the next morning, the sheriff’s department said, Gutherie was uninjured and in good spirts.
