Hot Springs School on state list
Hot Springs Elementary, a mountain-community school approximately 23 miles east of Ducor, has been identified by the state as “qualified certification.”
A report released Monday by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson states 124 local educational agencies are in either a negative — unable to meet its financial obligations — or qualified certification — indicating the school might not meet its financial obligations for the current or two subsequent fiscal years, a move that allows its county office of education to step in to provide assistance to the district.
Hot Springs Elementary, in the Hot Springs School District, is listed by the state as having an enrollment of 13 pupils and a $400,000 budget. No other Tulare County school was listed.
