Crime Blotter 11/08/12
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Traffic Unit:
Traffic officers conducted extra school patrol in the areas of Monache High School, Pioneer Middle School, Burton Middle School, Buckley Elementary School and Vandalia Elementary School.
Possession of a Controlled Substance
Officers stopped a bicyclist in an alley in the 800 block of West Henderson Avenue. The bicyclist was identified as John Chavez, 42. Chavez advised he was on felony probation and a subsequent search of his backpack revealed he was in possession of a glass pipe and small amount of methamphetamine. Chavez was arrested without incident and later booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.
Residential Burglary
Officers responded to the 700 block of East Morton Avenue regarding a residential burglary. The victim reported that sometime during the day unknown suspect(s) forced entry through a window and entered the residence. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole the victim’s wallet.
