Visalia man injured in hit-and-run Tuesday night

The Lindsay Public Safety Department responded to Highway 65 and Tulare Road Tuesday at about 6:30 p.m. regarding a hit-and-run traffic accident, Lt. Bryan Clower reported.

Upon arrival responding units located two vehicles that had collided at the intersection with one subject who was still pinned in his vehicle.

Jordan Mahaffey, 27, of Visalia was extracted from his black 1988 Ford Mustang with assistance of the Tulare County Fire Department and transported to Kaweah Delta Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

Officers were also informed by a witness at the scene that three individuals exited the second vehicle, a burgundy 1999 Ford Expedition, and fled northbound on foot through a dirt field.

A search of the area was conducted utilizing a police helicopter. The subjects were not located.
