Police arrested 31-year-old Luis Rodriguez of Porterville Monday for allegedly brandishing a gun.

The Porterville Police Department reports that officers contacted Rodriguez in his car at around 12:30 a.m. in the 100 block of North Cobb Street. Police say it had been reported that Rodriguez was suspected of brandishing a handgun.

Officers reportedly found a handgun on the floorboard of Rodriguez’ car. They also learned Rodriguez had a warrant and determined he was under the influence of alcohol.

Rodriguez was taken to the local police station, where he was booked on suspicion of brandishing a firearm, drunk driving and for his warrant.

Rodriguez was also determined to be a convicted felon and was booked on an additional charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

He was later booked at the Tulare County Jail.
