THE PORTERVILLE RECORDER

A Porterville teen was rushed to a Fresno-area hospital this afternoon after suffering major injuries in a motorcycle crash on Reservation Road.

Christopher Silas, 17, was driving a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle on Reservation Road east of Road 296 at about 3:20 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the motorcycle and drove off the roadway, the California Highway Patrol reports.

The motorcycle plowed into a barbed wire fence.

Silas was driving at an unknown rate of speed at the time of the accident. His direction of travel on Reservation Road was also not known. He was wearing safety equipment at the time of the crash.

The teen suffered major injuries and was flown to Community Regional Medical Center, Fresno for treatment.
