Crime blotter 3/12/13
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.
Tuesday, March 12
Burglary
Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 block of North Westside Street regarding a burglary. The victim stated today between 11:20 a.m. and noon, subject(s) forced entry into the residence. Entry was made by prying open the garage window and then kicking in the garage door which leads to the main residence. Once inside, the subject(s) took jewelry, collector coins, and Christmas tree decorations. Physical evidence was located and collected.
Burglary
Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of West Median Avenue regarding a burglary. The victim stated today between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., subject(s) forced entry the residence. Entry was made through a small window on the east side of the residence, which was pried open. Once inside, the subject(s) took an electric drier, electric washer, snap on tools, a 12-gauge pump action shotgun, and a semi-auto .22 caliber handgun. Physical evidence was located and the case remains under investigation.
Burglary
Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of North Park Street regarding a burglary. The victim stated today between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., subject(s) forced entry into the residence. Entry was made by kicking the rear door to the residence. Once inside, the subject(s) took a 19 inch LED television, a Cannon digital camera with two lenses, an Xbox 360 Kinect, an Xbox 360, an HP laptop, and a white gold ring.
Failure to Yield – Police Pursuit
An officer attempted to stop a vehicle southbound on Plano Street from Henderson Avenue; however, it failed to stop. A pursuit was initiated southbound on Plano Street to eastbound Highway 190. A K-9 officer joined the pursuit as it continued up Reservation Road. The vehicle was lost on Reservation Road and the pursuit was terminated. Tribal police and TCSD were notified of the pursuit.
Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Larry Eberhardt, 62, in the area of E Street and Date Avenue. He had three felony and misdemeanor warrants. He was arrested and later booked into the Tulare County Main Jail.
Burglary
Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West Date Avenue regarding a burglary. The victim stated today between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., subject(s) forced entry into his residence. Entry was made through a rear window which was removed. Once inside, the subject(s) took a Gameboy, and a Nintendo DS.
Residential Burglary
Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of North Sunnyside Street regarding a residential burglary. The victim reported that between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m., suspect(s) entered her residence through an unlocked back door and took several electronic items (cameras, Xbox, DVD players), DVD’s, video games, and jewelry.
Residential Burglary
Officers responded to a residence in the sub-100 block of South B regarding a residential burglary. The reporting party stated that between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. today, suspect(s) broke out the front window and were able to reach inside and take four PlayStation games. Physical evidence was located and the case remains under investigation.
Burglary
Officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of North Pearson regarding a residential burglary. The victim reported that between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., suspect(s) forced entry into a exterior laundry room and took the coins from a commercial washing machine.
Felony Warrant
Officers stopped a pedestrian at Olive Avenue and Villa Street who was identified as Colton Dennis, 21. Dennis had one felony and one misdemeanor warrant and was arrested without incident. He was later booked at the substation.
