PARA guest speaker planned for Thursday

The Porterville Area Republican Assembly will have Marcelino Valdez and Tim Thiesen as its speakers Thursday at La Fuente Mexican Restaurant, 29 N. Main St.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m.

Valdez is the newly-elected Central Valley vice chairman for the California Republican Party.

Thiesen is the California Republican Party vice president. They will be sharing their thoughts on the upcoming elections for the California Republican Assembly along with a local CRA endorsing convention regarding Michael J. Rubio’s vacated 16th District Senatorial seat.

PARA, one of the largest CRA Units in the state, is considered a major player in this election cycle and its influence is felt in Sacramento.

PARA meetings are open to the public.
