Crime Blotter 02/11/13

Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Monday, Feb. 11
Grand Theft
Officers responded to the 400 block of Carmelita regarding a vehicle burglary. An unknown subject entered the locked vehicle and took a Springfield 9mm handgun and stored ammunition from inside.

Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Kendra Allen, 29, at a residence in the 200 block of East Putnam Avenue regarding a misdemeanor warrant. Allen was arrested without incident and later cited and released form the PPD.

Attempted Burglary
Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of East Vandalia Avenue regarding a possible burglary in progress. When they arrived they contacted the homeowner who stated she was awakened by a noise and saw a male subject with a flashlight in the front yard. She also heard noises consistent with somebody trying to open a window. Officers found a screen removed from a front window, however the window was still closed and locked. The suspect was only described as a male with a stocky build wearing a hoodie.

Burglary
Officers responded to the 300 block of South Jaye Street regarding a residential burglary. An unknown suspect entered the residence through a window and took two laptop computers, two video games and other miscellaneous items.

Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Isaura Vasquez, 24, at a residence in the 200 block of North Balmoral Street regarding an outstanding warrant. Vasquez was arrested and later cited and released from the PPD for the warrant.

Felony Warrant
Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of North South Street regarding a verbal disturbance. When they arrived they contacted Matthew Cunningham, 36, who had an active felony warrant. Cunningham was arrested without incident and later booked at Main Jail.

DUI / Transportation of Methamphetamine / Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Violation of Probation
A suspicious vehicle was stopped at Tomah Avenue and Mathew Street. The driver, Jaida Enriquez, 24, was contacted. Her license was suspended and she was on probation. Enriquez was in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine, two glass pipes and was under the influence of a controlled substance. The passenger, Jevelyn Enriquez, 18, was also under the influence and also in possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were arrested without incident and processed at the PD.
