Recorder adds three to its staff
Newsroom, advertising and circulation all have new faces
The Porterville Recorder recently filled three positions — one each in circulation, advertising and editorial. New to The Recorder team area Karen Mahich, Vanessa Meza and David Adalian.
Mahich fills the role of Newspapers In Education coordinator and is one of two district managers in the Classified Department. As NIE coordinator, she is in charge of raising funds for the program that allows teachers in the Orange Belt to receive The Recorder and use it in their classrooms.
The Monache High graduate has family in the area and recently earned her bachelor’s of business administration. She has three adult children, two daughters and a son.
Meza is an advertising executive. She was born in Arcadia in Los Angeles County. A little over 20 years ago, she moved to Porterville to be with family. She graduated in May with an associate’s in business administration and is currently working toward a bachelor’s while attending National University. She brings six years of outside advertising sales experience, having worked for a newspaper, radio stations and a bilingual telephone book.
She has four children between the ages of 4 and 23.
Adalian joins the newsroom as a copy editor and sports writer. He brings 18 years of newspaper experience to The Recorder. He was a reporter and editor for Mineral King Publishing and the Exeter Sun. He’s been freelancing since 1999 and has been published all across the West.
He is a fifth generation resident of Tulare County, who is married with two daughters.
