Crime Blotter 06/08/12
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Commercial Burglary
Officers responded to the Tav Cam, in regards to a burglary. The victim reported that over the past day someone broke into a room and stole a refrigerator.
DUI
Officers responded to a report of a reckless driver in the area of Westwood Street and Olive Avenue. The vehicle was located and the driver, Tanner Warden, 26, was determined to be under the influence of prescription medication. He was arrested and booked into the county jail.
Possess Narcotics / Under the Influence
Officers contacted Dewayne Thomas, 39, in the Target parking lot. He was found to be on probation and a subsequent probation search of his person revealed he was in possession of about ½ a gram of methamphetamine. Thomas was arrested without incident and determined to be actively under the influence. Thomas was booked into the county jail.
Public Intoxication
Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of North Douglas Street regarding subjects fighting in the street. Two males, later identified as Anthony Torres,22, and Christopher Yost, 18, were fighting in the street. Both were detained and found to be heavily intoxicated, therefore they were arrested for public intoxication. Officers also contacted Alex Kaiser, 20, who was found to have an outstanding warrant. All three were booked into the county jail.
Possess Stolen Property / Conspiracy
Officers were dispatched to the sub 100 block of North Sierra Street regarding subjects seen exiting a vehicle and fleeing the area on foot. Officers were able to determine that the suspect(s) had entered two secured and two unsecured vehicles parked in the area. Several items were taken from the vehicles including currency, CD’s and misc paperwork and identification cards. Officers contacted several subjects in the area to include Lino Almanza, 18, Brian Gotschall, 18, and a 17-year-old. All three were positively identified as the suspects in the theft. Upon their arrest Almanza and Gotschall were found to be in possession of most of the stolen property. All three were arrested and later booked at their respective facilities
