Crime blotter 3/13/13
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Domestic Violence
Officers were dispatched to the Porterville Substation regarding a report of domestic violence that occurred at Highway 65 and North Grand Avenue. The victim reported that Violeta Maldonado-Alvarez assaulted him during an argument leaving visible injuries consisting of scratches and cuts to his arm. Maldonado-Alvarez was arrested and transported to Bob Wiley Detention Facility for booking.
Possession of Methamphetamine / Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Warrant Arrest
Officers responded to a residence in the sub-100 block of West Danner Avenue regarding subjects heard arguing. When they arrived, officers contacted several subjects, three of whom were Loren Thomas, 37, Gabriel Espinoza, 30, and Allen Scruggs, 40. All three were under the influence of a controlled substance and were arrested. Further investigation revealed that Thomas was in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine, Espinoza was in possession of drug paraphernalia, and Scruggs had an arrest warrant. All three were arrested without incident and transported to PPD.
Auto Theft
Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of South Milo Street regarding a stolen vehicle report. The victim stated that sometime between 10 p.m. and 4:10 a.m. suspect(s) stole his purple 1998 Dodge Stratus while it was parked in front of his residence.
