Porterville Art Association hosts mixer today
Businesses are invited to connect at the Porterville Chamber of Commerce Networking Mixer today at the Porterville Art Association at 151 N. Main St.
The mixer will be from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Gallery, where the association members have planned an assortment of refreshments for attendees.
The Porterville Art Association was organized in 1962 by a dedicated, small group of artists who wanted to promote art within the community of Porterville. They worked diligently to encourage anyone who had an interest in art to explore the many facets by giving art lessons, and showing art works around the city.
Because there was no formal art gallery for many years, these artists showed their work in businesses and in City Hall. However, under the leadership of Vedra MacElfresh, the first PAA gallery was opened on North Main Street, and this small space proved so popular, the gallery moved to a larger space in 2012 where it continues to grow. The new Porterville Art Association Gallery and Studios offers a gift shop, featured artists, classes in various mediums for all ages, and art exhibits which rotate every two months.
Monthly Porterville Chamber mixers provide an opportunity to sustain and grow business.
Attendees should bring plenty of business cards to share. The events are open to Chamber members and those interested in learning more about the benefits of membership and networking.
For more information on the mixer and other activities for business exposure and growth, contact the Porterville Chamber office at 784-7502.
