Two Porterville residents arrested on a multitude of charges

PORTERVILLE

Adam Ibarra, 26, and Alfonso Pena, 22, were both arrested on Monday after leading police on a chase in a stolen vehicle. The pursuit began in Porterville and continued to Road 180 and Avenue 208 where the vehicle became stuck in a field. Pena, the passenger, then fled on foot and was apprehended by a Tulare County Sheriff’s K9. He was taken to Sierra View District hospital for injuries sustained during the apprehension.

Ibarra, the driver, was arrested without further incident. Both suspects were apprehended by the Porterville Police Department with assistance the California Highway Patrol and deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department.

Ibarra, was arrested and booked for auto theft, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, felony evading a police officer in a vehicle and parole violation. Ibarra was on post-release community supervision and wanted by the Department of Corrections Parole for violating his terms of parole. He was also in possession of shaved keys used for burglary.

Pena was arrested for resisting arrest and conspiracy to commit a felony, auto theft, and possession of methamphetamine. Once he receives medical clearance he will be booked in the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department.

The stolen vehicle was returned to the owner.
