Man arrested on various drug charges
PORTERVILLE
A Porterville man was arrested on several drug charges including sales and child endangerment Friday afternoon, the Porterville Police Department reported.
Mauricio Ojeda Jaime, 37, of Porterville was booked into the Tulare County Jail on felony charges of child endangerment, possession of narcotics for sales, possession of a controlled substance for sales and possession of marijuana for sales following an investigation by the department’s Special Investigations Unit and General Investigations Unit. Bail was set a $100,000.
The units were looking in to possible drug sales at a residence in the 500 block of South Creekside Street and eventually obtained a search warrant for the residence. Jaime tried to run from the residence when the search warrant was served Friday afternoon but was eventually found.
During the search, detectives located approximately 300 grams of heroin, more than 300 grams of Methamphetamine, and two ounces of marijuana packaged for sales. Detectives also located paraphernalia associated with narcotic sales and distribution. The illegal narcotics seized had an estimated street value of over $40,000.
A 2-year-old child was inside the residence when the search warrant was served and narcotics were located in an area that could have been accessed by the child.
