19-year-old arrested in burglary spree

A 19-year-old Porterville man was arrested Tuesday night after he allegedly went on a mini-burglary spree at the Target Shopping Center on West Henderson Avenue, the Porterville Police Department reports.

Police say the suspect, identified as Cody Smith, was found to be in possession of clothes stolen from Kohl’s, along with shoes stolen from Payless Shoe Source, and electronics stolen from Target.

Officers located Smith after witnesses reported seeing him inside Target, the PPD reports.

Smith was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary and possession of stolen property and was later booked at the Tulare County Main Jail.
