PORTERVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.
Warrant Arrest
Officers located Mellissa Williams, 29, and she had a felony warrant. She was arrested and booked at TCSD Sub-Porterville.
Felony Warrant
Officers contacted a bicyclist in front of Kohl’s and he was identified as Scott Lane, 33. Lane had an active “no bail” felony warrant for Violation of Probation and was arrested without incident.
Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale / Resist Arrest
Officers attempted to contact a suspicious subject in the 400 block of South “E” Street; however, the subject fled on foot through an apartment complex. After a brief foot chase, the subject was apprehended and identified as Brandon Gonzalez, 26. Gonzalez was in possession of crystal methamphetamine and a large sum of cash. Gonzalez was arrested and later booked at the substation in lieu of a $250,000 bail.
DUI / Possession of an Assault Rifle
Officers stopped a vehicle at Salisbury Street and Tomah Avenue and contacted the driver, identified as David Acosta, 33. Acosta displayed symptoms of alcohol intoxication and was arrested. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a 9mm assault rifle lying on the back seat. Acosta was booked at the substation.
Felony Warrant
Officers responded to the 1000 block of South Wisconsin Street regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers contacted David Reaves, 42. Reaves had a felony warrant and he was arrested without incident.
