The Red Onion, a new hamburger stand, is opening up in Porterville at the end of the month according to owner Najid Naji.

The drive through is located at 416 N. Main Street and will offer a variety of food including hamburgers, chicken and fries.

Naji and his family will operate the business which is not affiliated with a restaurant of the same name that used to be open in East Porterville.

“It’s a good location,” said Naji, who also owns the Hamburger Planet in Pixley and has been working in the business since he was 17.

The restaurant will also have a few chairs and tables outside. The pricing is in the medium range.

“It is a good, good price,” said Naji

Randall Carroll, the owner of the land, is leasing the property to Naji. Carroll explains that the building has been completely remodeled with a bigger inside area and an added hood. The location is prime.

“There is absolutely nothing in that area. It will be a big hit just because of the location,” said Carroll.

The hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
