Wage and hour laws employer workshop announced
The Porterville Chamber of Commerce, Porterville Employer Advisory Council, and City of Porterville will present an employer workshop on Mandatory Leave in California. This seminar will address the range of leaves of absence available to California employees and employer obligations in connection with such leaves. The discussion will focus on practical strategies and tools to manage leaves and to prevent abuse of authorized leaves. Question and answer time is included. This workshop is designed to take the confusion out of understanding mandated leaves.
The presenter is Anthony Raimondo, an attorney with McCormick Barstow LLP in Fresno. Raimondo specializes in labor relations and employment law, including management representation in counter-organizing campaigns, unfair labor practice defense, grievance and arbitration defense, and collective bargaining negotiations. He represents employers in state and federal courts in actions ranging from harassment and discrimination to wage and hour disputes. He is a seasoned workshop presenter addressing various employment law related topics of importance to employers.
The workshop takes place from 7:30 am to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15 at Cherry Tree Catering in Porterville. Employers must register by Sept. 10 for the session which includes continental breakfast, materials, and presentation.
