THE PORTERVILLE RECORDER

A 29-year-old Porterville man died early Thursday morning after the truck he was riding in collided head on with another vehicle on the Famoso-Porterville Highway.

Alejandro Magana was a passenger in a 1995 Ford F-350 being driven by Porterville resident Roberto Camacho. For an unknown reason, Camacho, who was driving about 50 mph,  crossed the center line of the roadway and drove into the northbound lane, striking a 1995 Ford F-150.

The accident occurred south of Peterson Road, about ten miles northwest of McFarland in Kern County.

Magana was not wearing a seat belt. He sustained fatal injuries.

Camacho sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center.

The other driver, Luis Raul Nunez, 28, of McFarland,  sustained major injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center.
