Laurie A. Melton

Laurie A. Melton, a resident of Porterville, died there Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005. She was 48.

A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Myers Chapel in Porterville. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Porterville.

Mrs. Melton was a native of Los Angeles. She was the President of The California School Employees Association, chapter 428. She was employed with Tulare County Office of Education and worked at L.B. Hill School in Porterville as an instructional aide. She was involved with Youth For Understanding and hosted several foreign exchange students.

She is survived by two daughters, Doreen Ricci of Los Flores and Melinda Weiss of Murrieta; her mother, Mildred McRae of Porterville; one sister, Janice Walters of Springville; one brother, Paul McRae of Torrance; six step-grandchild; one niece; and two nephews.
