Emilia Martinez

Emilia Flores Martinez, a resident of Porterville, died there Wednesday, August 4, 2004. She was 90.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Myers Chapel in Porterville.

A service will be at 6 p.m. today at Myers Chapel.

A service will be held in Brownsville, Texas at a later date.

Interment will be at Buena Vista Burial Park in Brownsville, Texas.

Mrs. Martinez was a native of Brownsville, Texas and a resident of Porterville. She was a homemaker for 40 years, foster grandparent and member of St. Anne's Church in Porterville.

She is survived by her three daughters, Kay Barber and Greg McLaughlin, both of Porterville and Esther M. Beck of Redondo Beach; four sons, Johnnie Barber of Porterville, Carlos Martinez, Sergio Martinez and Salvador Martinez, Jr., all of Brownsville, Texas; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Salvador Martinez.
