Police are looking for 32-year-old Paul Castro for his alleged involvement in a stabbing that occurred Monday.

The incident was reported at 6:37 p.m. and happened in the sub-100 block of East Vandalia Avenue. The Porterville Police Department said officers were dispatched to an apartment in the area regarding someone who had been stabbed in the head.

When officers arrived, they spoke with a 36-year-old man who said he was assaulted by a person he identified as “Money,” later identified as Castro.

Police said the alleged victim reported he had an ongoing dispute with Castro and when he walked outside, Castro “jumped” him and hit him in the back of the head.

It wasn’t until several minutes later that the victim realized he had been stabbed. He sustained a superficial cut to the back of his head and was taken to Sierra View District Hospital where he was treated and released.

According to police, Castro is on parole and has a warrant for his arrest.

Officers have not been able to locate Castro.
