Man held, $30,000 in meth seize

A Porterville man was arrested and more than 2 pounds of methamphetamine seized by Porterville police on Friday.

According to a police press release, Armando Beltran, 33, was arested at a residence in the 900 block of East Dixie Avenue at 9:30 Frdiay night.

Detectives with the Porterville Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit served a narcotic search warrant at the residence, but police did not indicate what led to the search.

During the search, detectives found approximately 2¼ pounds of suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia consistent with the sales of methamphetamine. The methamphetamine has a street value in excess of $30,000. 

Beltran was booked into the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department for possession of methamphetamine for sale.
