Man arrested on suspicion of meth, gun possession
Police arrested 24-year-old Jimmy Manriquez of Porterville late Tuesday night after finding a loaded handgun, methamphetamine and drug materials in his car.
The Porterville Police Department reports that at 11:16 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a car in the 200 block of North H Street. Police said the driver, identified as Manriquez, was under the influence of methamphetamine and was arrested.
A search revealed he was in possession of a loaded handgun, a small amount of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia, the PPD reports.
Manriquez also had five warrants for his arrest and was transported to the police department.
Further investigation determined he was also a convicted felon.
Manriquez was later booked into the Tulare County Jail on suspicion of multiple crimes.
