Trio arrested in assault case
Two men accused of assaulting a 17-year-old male during a confrontation were arrested Sunday night.
The men, identified as Porterville residents Arnold Andrade, 26, and Eduardo Perez, 21, were booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and for resisting arrest. The teen was also arrested and booked on suspicion of burglary and domestic violence.
The Porterville Police Department reports that at approximately 8 p.m. on Sunday officers responded to the 100 block of West School Avenue regarding an assault victim. There they located the teen who had injuries on his face and head. Police say Andrade and Perez fled the area but were later found by a police dog hiding behind a cargo container in the area.
Police later determined the teen was confronted by Andrade and Perez for assaulting his girlfriend, the PPD reports.
The teen had reportedly broken into the victim’s home where the assault happened.
Andrade and Perez were taken to the Tulare County Jail.
The teen was taken to Sierra View District Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries, and he was later booked at the Juvenile Detention Facility.
