Annual Emblem Club Holiday Boutique set for Saturday
More than 25 vendors will be on hand offering everything from handmade jewelry and candles to painted signs, decorating items and flavored teas. Numerous curio figurines, such as Precious Moments, Snow Babies and Beanie Babies will also be available.
Sponsored by the Porterville Emblem Club No. 82, a specific charity, event or project is always designated as the benefactor of the boutique, said Kim Lathem, chair of the event.
In previous years, money raised has gone towards the Battlefield Cross at Veterans Park, Feed the Heroes Program and other charities, students and events.
This year, proceeds from the boutique will benefit the Guardians of the Ribbon/Pink Heals, also known as the Pink Fire Trucks.
The Pink Heals Tour and the Cares Enough to Wear Pink programs focuses on gathering community, family, neighbors and leaders to spread the message in a unique way and bringing awareness and support to cancer programs.
