Man allegedly assaults girlfriend

Marcos Pena, 34, was arrested and booked into the Tulare County Jail on Wednesday on suspicion of domestic violence.

Porterville police were called at 8:29 p.m. regarding a man and woman arguing in the parking lot of a Motel 6, located at 935 W. Morton Ave.

The woman reportedly said she was assaulted by her boyfriend Marcos Pena, who had fled the scene.

The victim reportedly had minor injuries to her right arm and back resulting from the alleged assault. Police found the alleged suspect nearby and arrested him without incident.

He also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant unrelated to the case.
