Volunteers needed to become state park volunteers

Volunteers are needed at the Colonel Allensworth State Park to interpret historic buildings, demonstrate everyday activities and welcome visitors at the visitors center. Other opportunities are also available. Training is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, at the park.

Lunch will not be provided so participants must bring their own. Volunteers can range in age from student to senior citizens. Applicants must complete training and a background check prior to beginning their work.

Allensworth State Park is the only state park in Tulare County and is located off of Highway 43 west of Earlimart.
