THE PORTERVILLE RECORDER

EXETER—Two children were injured in a car accident Monday that occurred when their parents got in an altercation.

The parents assaulted each other, causing the car they were driving in to collide with a tree. At 10:48 a.m., deputies arrived at the scene of the accident at Spruce avenue north of Highway 198, and contacted the woman who told them that her husband had fled the area into the grove of trees with their children, authorities report.

The man and the children were later located at the 30400 block of Road 204. The man was booked into the Tulare County Main Jail on suspicion of spousal abuse and child endangerment.

The woman was taken to Kaweah Delta Hospital for treatment. At the hospital, she was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, hypodermic needles and paraphernalia. She was subsequently booked into the Bob Wiley Detention Facility.
