DA's offfice raises money for Special Olympics
On Saturday, investigators, prosecutors, and support staff from the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office braved the near-freezing waters of Lake Millerton during the annual Polar Plunge charity event that took place at the Millerton Lake State Recreation Area in Friant.
The team, aptly named “Frozen Justice,” was made up of 19 staff members from the DA’s office and their families. Since all of the event’s participants were encouraged to wear costumes for the plunge, Frozen Justice donned ties, slacks, and even carried briefcases during their dip into the water.
Frozen Justice raised more than $4,000 for Special Olympics Northern California. Following the plunge, Frozen Justice was presented the “Golden Plunger” award for being the highest fundraising law enforcement team competing in the Fresno event. Being the number one team made Frozen Justice the winner of the friendly competition with the other law enforcement teams.
Saturday’s event marked the third year that team Frozen Justice has participated in the event.
