Crash sends one to local hospital

One person was taken to Sierra View District Hospital after a four-car collision at the intersection of Jaye Street and Morton Avenue early Wednesday.

The crash happened just before 8 a.m. Police say a 16-year-old male was stopped behind Victor Mestaz, who was stopped behind Jessica Dunning, who was stopped behind other traffic.

Another 16-year-old male was also northbound on Jaye Street and struck the fist 16-year-old’s car from behind, forcing him into the rear of Mestaz’ car, who in turn was forced into the rear of Dunning’s car.

The Porterville Police Department reports that Mestaz complained of neck and back pain and was taken to SVDH by ambulance.

No other injuries were reported.
