A 69 year old female on Monday, June 8, was allegedly assaulted by her daughter.

At about 10:45 p.m., Porterville Police Officer Lance Kirk was dispatched to the 600 Block of East Poplar Street regarding an elderly female who had been assaulted.

When Officer Kirk arrived he contacted the confidential victim, who allegedly stated that her daughter Yvette Perry, had assaulted her during an argument at their residence. The result, she reportedly stated, caused pains to her chest and arms.

Perry, 42, had also allegedly torn the telephone out of the wall when the victim tried to call 9-1-1.

The victim had several bruises on her arms and legs which she stated were a result of the assault.

She was transported to Sierra View District Hospital via ambulance for treatment and was later released.
Efforts by officers to locate Perry were unsuccessful.

At about 11:27 p.m. on Monday, June 15, Officer Todd Lientz observed two suspicious subjects in the area of Plano Street and College Avenue and made contact with them.

Officer Lientz identified one of the subjects as Yvette Perry and immediately detained her due to the previously reported incident.

Officer Kirk, who was also on duty, responded to Officer Lientz’s location and took custody of Perry.

Perry was interviewed in regards to the allegations reported by her mother, and later booked into the Tulare County Jail on suspicion of elder abuse and obstruction of a phone line.
