ORTERVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Petty Theft
Officers responded to Kohl’s regarding a subject detained for theft. Officers contacted the suspect, Larissa Alvarado, 18, who had stolen two items from the store before being detained by loss prevention. Alvarado was arrested and booked.
Burglary
Officers responded to Target regarding a shoplifter detained for stealing audio speakers and a baby monitor. Officers contacted Nicolette Fairchild, 30, who was arrested for burglary and later booked at BWDF.
Warrant Arrest
Officers were dispatched to the El Granito Foundation regarding a female subject there with an out-of-county warrant. Officers arrived and contacted the female, Marilyn Mittel, 52, who had an active warrant for a probation violation out of Yuma, Ariz. Mittel was arrested and later booked at BWDF.
Warrant Arrest
While conducting a patrol check in the area of Patsy Street and Date Avenue, officers contacted Ismael Mendoza, 25. Mendoza had an active felony warrant for his arrest and was booked at the TCSO Porterville Substation.
Under the Influence
of a Controlled
Substance
Officers responded to the 300 block of North 3rd Street regarding suspicious subjects in a tent. Karen Corey, 54, was contacted and arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Residential Burglary
Officers investigated a report of a residential burglary in the 1100 block of West Forrest Avenue. The victim returned home to find her back sliding glass door open and items missing from within, which included miscellaneous jewelry and cash. Physical evidence was located at the scene.
