New DA to be given oath Monday

VISALIA
Tim Ward will be sworn in as Tulare County’s new district attorney at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Department 6 of the Visalia Courthouse.
Ward was appointed by the board of supervisors on Oct. 16 following Phil Cline’s announcement that he is retiring after serving more than 20 years as the county’s district attorney. Cline served the citizens of the community in the district attorney’s office for a total of more than 33 years.
Ward was hired as a Tulare County deputy district attorney in 1999. In 2005, he was promoted to supervising attorney and was later promoted to assistant district attorney in April 2011.
