Limited New Year celebrations offered locally

Local New Years’ Eve celebrations are limited but they are out there.
A few organizations, businesses, and the city of Porterville are all offering something to do on New Years’ Eve.

City of Porterville
The city’s Parks and Leisure Services Department is once again hosting a New Year’s Eve Gala from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Veterans Memorial Building, 1900 W. Olive Ave.
The evening includes ballroom dancing to celebrate the new year and is open to all adults, age 18 and older. Admission includes party favors, soft drinks, pasta, salad, and appetizers.
No alcohol will be served.
Music will be provided by Jerry Hall & Trick Shot.
The cost to attend is $10 per person. Tickets are available at the door.

Elks Lodge
The Porterville Elks Lodge No. 1342 is inviting the public to its new year’s celebration.
With doors opening at 6 p.m., the Lodge will offer a prime rib and shrimp dinner beginning at 7 p.m.
Music by Kenny Norton of High Sierra is set to run from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
A champagne toast and clock countdown will be offered at midnight. Party favors are included.
The cost to attend is $30 a person or $60 per couple.
Tickets are available in advance from 12 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or at the door, 386 N. Main St.

Eagles Lodge
The Porterville Fraternal Order of Eagles will be ringing in the new year with a party from 6 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
The event is potluck, with guests asked to arrive with a dish to share.
In addition, plenty of drink options, including alcohol, will be available for purchase.
The Eagle’s Lodge is located at 97 E. Henderson Ave.
Party favors will be provided and there is no cost to attend.

Manente’s Lakeside Bar and Grill
Open to the public, Manente’s will be open from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. on New Year’s Eve.  
The business will offer karaoke, drinks and appetizers for purchase, dancing to music by a D.J., and a countdown at midnight.
Party favors will not be provided and people are encouraged to bring their own.
There is no cover charge.
Manente’s is located at Success Lake, at 28557 Highway 190.

Charlie’s Pizza Kitchen
A New Year’s Eve celebration, complete with midnight countdown, is also planned at Charlie’s.
A $5 cover charge includes party favors, live music by Long Riders, and dancing to DJ Donn Woon.
The party begins at 8:30 p.m. and runs through 1:30 or 2 a.m. at Charlie’s, 1531 N. Main Street.
