Family HealthCare Network has added four new physician assistants to its network — one of which will join the health center in Porterville.

Melinda Oliver, a 2012 graduate of the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, comes with 10 years of nursing experience, including seven years at the MD Anderson Cancer Treatment in Houston, Texas.

The Keck program has provided her with a strong foundation, and with her nursing background, Oliver is able to advance her skills in obtaining detailed and accurate medical histories, perform physical exams and coordinate referrals, interdisciplinary teamwork and patient education. Oliver is also excited about providing quality care to her patients and believes her patients will be in good hands while in her care, FHCN officials said.

Physician assistants were also assigned to Farmersville and Hanford. In addition, two new doctors have joined the staffs in Visalia and Woodlake.

To schedule an appointment with Oliver, call Family HealthCare Network at 781-7242.

The Porterville Center is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
