Gang member sentenced for murder

VISALIA

Tony See, 17 of Farmersville, was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole plus additional and consecutive 525 years to life by the Honorable Judge Valeriano Saucedo after being found guilty of murder. He was sentenced on Friday.

On Aug.23 a Tulare County jury reached a guilty verdict in the case against See. He was convicted of one count of first degree murder with special circumstances of actively participating in acriminal street gang and gun enhancements. The defendant was also convicted of five counts of attempted murder with gang and gun enhancements.  

On June 8, 2011, the victims were sitting in a parking lot at an apartment complex in Visalia. The defendant, who was a member of a rival gang called the Oriental Troop, approached the group with a loaded shotgun and hid behind a car. He then fired five rounds into the group, killing Oscar Arzate, 19. and wounding two others.
