Guns taken from inside unlocked mountain home

CALIFORNIA HOT SPRINGS — A thief stole some guns from inside an unlocked mountain home last week while the homeowner was away.

Tulare County Sheriff’s deputies responded at 8:30 p.m. Saturday to a home in California Hot Springs to investigate a reported burglary. The address of the home was not released.

David Crane said someone entered his unlocked home while he was away and stole two long guns and an airgun, the Sheriff’s Department reports.

The theft reportedly occurred sometime between 4 p.m. Feb. 21 and 9 p.m. Friday. Loss was estimated at $2,100.
