Lindsay resident McKenzi Tess Blue was named Miss Congeniality Saturday at the Miss Tulare County pageant in Visalia.

Blue, a University of La Verne student working on a masters in teacher education, was one of three local women in the running for the Miss Tulare County and Miss Central Valley 2013 titles.

Blue, Breanna York of Porterville, Hannah Risvold of Springville, and nine other women were judged on interview, talent, swimsuit, evening grown and on-stage questions.

Each contestant also cast a vote for Miss Congeniality, the contestant they believed was the most helpful, genuine and outgoing, with Blue winning the title.

In addition, Risvold won the Fred Danner essay “Determined to Succeed” award.

Taking home the 2013 Miss Tulare County title and $5,500 in scholarship awards was Alisha Ginsberg, a 17 year old El Diamante senior from Visalia.

The Miss Central Valley title was won by Taylor Wolfe of Cutler-Orosi.
