Library and Literacy Commision seeks members

The city of Porterville is seeking members for the Library and Literacy Commission.

The Commission has four vacancies with terms to expire in October 2015, and one vacancy with a term due to expire in October 2013.

The Commission is comprised of seven members and serves in an advisory capacity making recommendations to the City Council on policy and overall goals and objectives for the library. 

Generally, the Commission meets once per month, with a hiatus during the months of June and July. To be eligible for appointment, individuals must be residents of the City of Porterville.   

Anyone wishing to serve can submit a Request for Appointment form to the City Clerk. All applications will then be forwarded to the City Council for its consideration.

The Request for Appointment form is available online at www.ci.porterville.ca.us, or can be obtained from the City Clerk, City Hall, 291 North Main Street.  Completed applications should be submitted by 5 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6, for consideration.
