The Tulare County Board of Supervisors will conduct its regular scheduled meetings during the evening five times this year, it was announced Tuesday.

Those meetings will also be held in a city in each of the five supervisorial districts.

Pete Vander Poel, chairman of the board, said the goal of hosting the night meetings is to improve the public’s access to the board.

“I hope residents respond well and attend these meetings to express their concerns or learn more about Tulare County government,” Vander Poel said in a news release issued Tuesday.

The first of five night meetings will take place at 7 p.m. March 12 at Farmersville City Hall, located in District One. The other four meetings are yet to be scheduled but will take place in each of the remaining four districts.

Board meetings usually take place at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays at the county government center in Visalia.
