Two booked on pot sales charges
A 19-year-old Porterville man and the medical marijuana cardholder he allegedly purchased marijuana from have been arrested.
The incident happened just after 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 1900 block of West Henderson Avenue.
The Porterville Police Department reports that officers stopped a car and contacted the driver, identified as Jose Meza, 19 of Porterville.
Meza was found to be in possession of an ounce of processed marijuana without a medical recommendation
Police said further investigation revealed Meza had purchased the drug just hours prior from 19-year-old Justin Struthers of Porterville, who had a medical marijuana recommendation.
Officers went to Struthers’ house and arrested him without incident.
Both Meza and Struthers were booked at the Tulare County Jail on suspicion of transportation and sales of marijuana.
