Crime blotter 1/3/13
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Vandalism / Petty Theft
Officers were dispatched to Prospect Education Center. The custodian reported he found a vending machine on the premises that had been damaged. Officers observed suspect(s) had drilled the lock mechanism to gain entry into the machine and an unknown amount of cash was missing. The custodian reported the vandalism and theft occurred within the last several days.
Vandalism
Officers were dispatched to Monache High School regarding damage to a vending machine. The same custodian who reported the damaged vending machine at Prospect Education Center had located the damage to this vending machine as well. Officers observed the same type of damage to the lock mechanism. The suspects did not get into this vending machine and it was only vandalized in the attempt to make entry. The damage was believed to have been made within the last few days.
